Mutate Britain Launch - 20th November

Thursday 20th November saw the launch of Mutate Britain @ Behind The Shutters Gallery, Cordy House, Shoreditch. WOW! What a launch. The queue outside virtually closed Curtain Road!

On approach to Cordy house you could see three bright green tenticals draping over the building from the roof top, 4 storeys high! Once inside, the Mutoid Waste guys didn’t fail to impress and Part2ism’s centrepiece (a massive wing panel) is definitely worth making a trip to Cordy House, just to see in person. Part2ism is exhibiting original canvas pieces into Jibbering Art’s show 0121, which launches at Mutate Britain on 4th December.

The Shambala Art Exhibition - The London Show

The launch night saw over 500 people through the doors. With buyers knowing that the exhibition was on for three days in London and then open in Birmingham for 7 days, we saw several large bids on the opening night.

Jibbering combined our love for music with our love for art, the Yabba Funk Sound System and The Mighty Jam Jah Sound were the perfect backdrop to Room 1, where the Shambala Art Boards were being exhibited.

Not only did we have the Shambala Art boards, the Shambala Fort and the donated pieces exhibited at Cordy house, the artists in attendance also painted three flights of stairwells and the rooftop walls.

Newso, Zoot and Sweet Toof all took to the stairwells.

Cyclops, Sweet Toof, Discreet and Newso did a massive collaboration.

Zoot, Gastro, Glenn Anderson, LL Brainwashed and Mac 1 all got in there too. Mac 1 produced yet another breathtaking piece and Newso didn’t fail to perform to the crowds, he painted a giant hand in front of 50 onlookers.

The Shambala Art Exhibition - so far….

Over 30 street artists have been brought together to help raise money for two small grass roots charities based in Africa. The boards that the artists painted during the Shambala Festival 2008 will be exhibited, along with donated pieces that will be sold through closed bids to the highest bidder.
All profits (with no administration charges) will go to:
Banunule School For Orphans, Kampala, Uganda.
